The first born to a noble warrior that lived in Whiterun as a thane, her mother died while giving birth to her, and so she never knew the woman that she was supposed to call a mother. Though she missed the idea of having a mother - as she saw every other child and they all had mothers, Lydia couldn't honestly say that she missed having one. After all, she'd never experienced a mother, so how could she say either way if it was good or not? Despite having a beautiful girl, her father had always desired a son to pass his legacy onto. He was somewhat of a hero around Whiterun for things he'd done in the past, and wanted a son that would follow in his footsteps. Because she felt like as a daughter she had somehow failed him, Lydia became determined to be just as good as a son would have been, if not better. It all started when she was young. Lydia hung out with all the older sons of the other families of Whiterun. At first they put her down for being a girl and did everything they could to discourage her attempts to keep up with them. But Lydia was persistent. She took up sticks and played swordfighting with them, climbed trees, wrestled in the dirt, had mud fights, spitting contests, and all around ran free as the wind. She earned her right into being right there alongside the boys, and often took them down in the scraps that they had. Years later none of them questioned her right to be among them, and thought of her as one of the guys. A guy with lumpy pillows up top, but a guy nonetheless. She went on grand adventure along with them, their first hunts and the like. The first time she went, she surpassed them all and got a trophy before they did. And couldn't resist rubbing it into their faces. Years went by, with Lydia making more and more of a name for herself in Whiterun. She defended the hold with a fierce determination, hunted, and continued to prove herself as a daughter fit to be the child of a proud warrior and thane. And so she did. The attack of the dragons was the turning point in Lydia's life. When her father was sent to battle the dragon, Lydia went with. Unfortunately, her father was severely injured in that fierce battle that raged, and died later from those injuries. Hardly given any time to grieve, Balgruuf the Greater made her into a Housecarl of Dragonsreach, and there she remains now, determined that she will still bring honor to her fathers name in the fight with the dragons. PERSONALITY Sarcastic - Lydia has a slight tongue on her. By slight, I mean huge. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, either positive or negative. She also isn't the biggest fan of doing things for people she doesn't really admire or respect. If she's unhappy, she'll definitely let you know. Especially if it's about carrying things for you... Violent - The best way to solve problems is through violence. Right? Right! Due to growing up mainly as a boy, Lydia has always been involved in a more rough and tumble way of life, and could often be found up against some big lug of a boy, swinging away with her fists if he dared say anything bad about her. Impulsive - Lydia has the tendency to run into situations full speed ahead without one thought as to the consequences. If it moves and threatens her or hers, she's going to run in sword swinging to slaughter it. Thankfully she's got the power to back it up. Feisty/Hotheaded - Lydia has always been quite the handful. If someone insults her, she has a hard time holding herself back, and will normally make them eat their words. It can be extremely hard for her to hold back. Loyal - Despite her other...uh...fine qualities, perhaps the most prominent is her loyalty. Lydia hates the sly, or really anyone that tries to take advantage of others - especially those she views as 'her own'. If someone harms those that she's close to, she will retaliate in kind, and will fight to the death for a friend or comrade. Honesty - Lydia hates liars, thieves, bandits, and the like. She cannot stand how they live their lives, and has a fierce distaste for anyone that is such. Instead, she lives her life honestly and respects this quality perhaps most out of anything else. If you've lied to her, she won't trust you for a long time. If ever. |

One Handed - Using a one handed comes easily to her and Lydia usually defaults to using this whenever she's in close combat.
Two Handed - Despite usually using a one handed sword, Lydia, true to her Nordic heritage
Archery - If Lydia is out of range, she doesn't have any sort of problem switching over to bow and using it for ranged weaponry. As with the other types of weapons, she's a very good shot and has a keen eye.
Heavy Armor - Stealth? Who needs it! Lydia is just about the loudest person anyway, so why not use heavy armor? Due to her strength, Lydia usually carts around heavy armor, and finds it very useful in her way of fighting. Frontal assault where you just slaughter everything is the way to go.
Block - With her heavy armor and her heavy weaponry, it isn't easy to dodge attacks and escape. Because of this, Lydia has become very good at simply blocking the attacks that would otherwise disable or kill her.
Weapons, Armor, and Belongings.
Steel Armor - Lydia's armor is steel armor (the version without pauldrons), boots, gauntlets, and shield. She usually wears heavy armor due to the fact that she can't sneak worth a darn anyway, and doesn't even try.
Steel Sword - Lydia keep a simple steel sword as her primary one handed weapon, though she can and does enjoy using a two handed as well.
Hunting Bow - If Lydia is out of range, she also has a hunting bow that she uses with prowess to slaughter anything that she needs to.
